On this page, you will find pictures of a few of the pieces of furniture that I have completed.

76" x 34" bookcase with 6 adjustable shelves, glass doors and traditional iron hinges and latch. The colorful wood is green ash that grew in our front yard.

Oak Window Seat and Knick Knack Shelves built to fit exact space. The customer wanted a window seat and shelves to fit a nook in her dining area. Red oak with russet-golden finish. Doors have concealed hinges and cherry knobs.
These custom video racks flank a china cabinet. The owner wanted them to accent, but not hide, the china cabinet. They were finished to match the china cabinet. These shelves are tilted 15 degrees to make it easier to view the titles.

Shaker style chest of drawers in maple with antique cherry dye and French-polish finish. Dimensions are 53" wide x 44" tall x 20" deep. The classic 4, 4, 3, 2, 2 drawer design was modified...the top drawers are really just 2 per tier, to minimize wasted space, with false fronts to keep it faithful in apperance.

Craftsman style head board and footboard, antique cherry, queen size.

Miniature Stable - This barn was designed to accomodate a young equiestrienne's Breyer horses. The wood is ash. The stall doors slide. 16" high x 26" long.

Barrister Bookcases - stackable individual units with base and top units. The units are shown 12" high x 34 1/2" wide. Solid wood panels or glass are available. Base shown is 8" tall and cap unit is 3" tall.

Barrister Bookcases - same as picture to the left - stacked differently.

Cedar Memorial Boxes - These were ordered by the family of a deceased woodworker, whose passion for playing Santa was well known. The wood is aromatic cedar, remnants from his shop, and the inset carving is basswood. The awesome carving was done from a photograph by Jon Gillespie of Washington, IL.

Oak 2-drawer curio table with 1/4" glass in the top.

Maple kitchen island with 48" x 38" butcher block top. It has 2 drawers and 5 doors - one with glass panel. Doors are square shouldered Shaker style with flat panels of figured birch. Knobs are cherry.

Pens - These are a sampling of the pens and pencils I turn. I use about 40 different woods. These pens are all made from Buckeye burl. When a buckeye tree forms a burl, it secretes chemicals which produce colors from browns to grays to almost black. You can see here how widely varied the colors and patterns can be in this interesting wood.

Variety of Chests - shown here are a pastel fabric upholstered cedar chest at the top. This chest is made from white oak with 1/4" red cedar lining and walnut handle.

Center - Two red oak flat panel toy chests with vinyl upholstered tops.

Foreground - Oak plywood toy chest - 42" x 20" with solid oak bread boarded lid and solid oak scalloped base.

Top and middle chests from the picture on the left - showing interior of upholstered lids and show closing hardware.
